Designed to build participant confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and provide the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation. This course is designed for in-facility care providers, including nursing staff, care aides, medical and dental professionals, pre-hospital care providers, which may include professionals in fire service, rescue team, sports-medicine, lifeguards and ski patrol.

L3.3 PROFESSIONAL RESPONDER / WILDERNESS & REMOTE DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTOR COURSE
This course is designed for candidates who wish to deliver Canadian Red Cross Professional Responder courses or Wilderness & Remote First Aid courses. Course content focuses on instructional techniques, including designing and supporting scenarios, organizing courses, and how to support dynamic, learner-centred classroom environments. Through our Instructor Development Centres, Instructors are supported with state-of-the-art instructional tools to help them customize the learning environment to the various provincial, industry and personal learning needs of the participants.
POTENTIAL CERTIFICATIONS
Certifications are valid for three years. Certification will correspond to the candidate’s completion of the pathway components, and in accordance with the courses they wish to teach. This may include the following:
- Basic Life Support Instructor (certified to teach BLS, AM and OT)
- First Responder Instructor (certified to teach BLS, AM, OT, MAFA, and FR)
- Emergency Medical Responder Instructor (certified to teach BLS, AM, OT, FR, EMR, AFA, and MAFA)
- Remote First Aid Instructor (RFAI) - certified to teach Remote First Aid
- Wilderness First Aid Instructor (WFAI) - certified to teach Remote First Aid and Wilderness First Aid
- Wilderness First Responder Instructor (WFRI) - certified to teach Remote First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, Oxygen Therapy, Airway Management, Basic Life Support and First Responder

Proof of participant-level certification in the discipline-specific course that candidate is desiring certification.
